Documents

Documents required for the Greece visa

This is the core list, and we tailor it to your situation after the free check. Under each document you will find why the consulate asks for it.

  1. Passport valid for at least 3 months after your return date, with two blank pages, and issued within the last 10 years.

Why the consulate asks for it: The consulate needs the passport to stay valid through and after the trip, with room for the visa sticker.

  2. Two recent photos to Schengen specifications: white background, 35 by 45 mm.

Why the consulate asks for it: The photo goes on the sticker and is matched against your biometrics. A photo off spec delays the file.

  3. Schengen visa application form, fully completed and signed.

Why the consulate asks for it: Any blank field or a detail that does not match your documents counts as an inconsistency.

  4. Bank statements for the last 3 to 6 months, stamped by the bank.

Why the consulate asks for it: They show you can pay for the trip and that the account moves normally, not a lump sum deposited just before applying.

  5. Employer letter (HR letter) with your position, salary, start date and approved leave.

Why the consulate asks for it: It proves you have a stable job to return to, the strongest sign of your ties to Egypt.

  6. If you own a business: valid commercial register and tax card.

Why the consulate asks for it: They prove your source of income and that you run an active business you need to come back to.

  7. Travel insurance with at least 30,000 EUR cover, valid across the Schengen area for the whole trip.

Why the consulate asks for it: A core Schengen rule, so a medical emergency is not paid for by the state.

  8. Confirmed hotel booking for every night of the stay.

Why the consulate asks for it: The consulate wants to know where you sleep each night, and the dates must match your flights and itinerary.

  9. Return flight reservation (a hold is enough, do not buy the ticket before the visa).

Why the consulate asks for it: It fixes the length of the trip and shows you intend to return.

  10. A simple day by day itinerary.

Why the consulate asks for it: It shows Greece is the main destination and that the trip is planned and makes sense.

  11. Copies of previous Schengen, UK or US visas if you have any.

Why the consulate asks for it: A clean travel history raises the consulate's confidence in the file.

  12. For children: birth certificate and a notarised consent from the parent who is not travelling.

Why the consulate asks for it: The consulate checks that the child travels with the consent of both parents.

  13. If visiting family or friends: an invitation letter from your host with a copy of their residence permit or ID.

Why the consulate asks for it: It proves the purpose of the visit and who will host you.

Refusal reasons

Top reasons Greece visas get refused

These are the points we look at first in the free check, so we can write your red-flag report before you submit.

  • Bank statements with large sudden deposits before applying, or a balance that does not cover the trip.

  • A weak or incomplete employer letter, or no clear proof of ties to Egypt (job, family, property).

  • Flight, hotel and itinerary dates that contradict each other.

  • Travel insurance that does not cover every day of the trip or is below 30,000 EUR.

  • Hotel bookings cancelled before the decision or impossible to verify.

  • An unclear purpose of travel, or Greece not being the main destination in the plan.

  • A previous refusal or overstay not declared on the form.

What we do

What we do for your Greece file

Our work starts with the first document and stays with you until the decision comes out.

Who is this visa for?

The Greece visa is a short stay Schengen visa for tourism, visiting family or friends, or a business trip of up to 90 days in any 180 day period. You apply to Greece when it is the country where you will spend the longest part of your trip, or the first country you enter when the stays are equal. With a stable job or a registered business and a bank account that moves naturally, your file starts from a good place.

  • A Greece specific checklist for your situation: employee, business owner, student, or travelling with family.

  • A review of every document and a written red-flag report before submission.

  • The Schengen form filled in and cross checked against your documents.

  • Your submission appointment booked at the VFS centre, with the confirmation sent to your email.

  • Travel insurance, hotel and flight reservations and the itinerary arranged as proof.

  • A briefing before the appointment day and support until the decision comes out.

We prepare the file and reserve the appointment only. You attend the appointment yourself, submit your file and give your biometrics. We do not go to the consulate on your behalf.
